Chris G. Stavropoulos

Chris G. Stavropoulos was born on August 25, 1917 in Lowell, Massachusetts to George and Constantina (Canelos) Stavropoulos. He passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Stavropoulos was the founder of Stavis Manufacturing with late brother Gus, later known as Die-Mate Corporation in Schiller Park. He worked in the business until 2002. He was a friend to all and loved by his family.

Chris is survived by his wife of 62 years, Loretta (nee Mikucki) Stavropoulos; his children, Laura (Ben) Stavropoulos-Settecase of Ft. Myers, Florida, Karen (Robert) Keeley of Kildeer and David Stavropoulos of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Colin, Christopher and Caitlin Keeley; his brother, James, his sister-in-law, Helen and his brother-in-law Andy Dennison.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Gus, Sam and Pete; his sister Virginia Dennison and his sisters-in-law Marie, Olga and Mary Stavropoulos.

Visitation from 11:00 AM until time of Prayer Service at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd.,1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the St. James Building Fund, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
