Franklin Edward Gerfy
Of Arlington Heights

Franklin Edward Gerfy was born on October 23, 1924 in Windber, Pennsylvania to Margaret Elizabeth (nee Olah) and Frank Gerfy. He passed away on October 5, 2009 in Arlington Heights.

Franklin was employed by Consoer, Townsend Consulting Engineers in Chicago as a senior associate of Transportation from 1952 to 1993. He served with the United States Army Air Force during WWII. He was also a member of the VFW and the Elks Club.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara (nee Aichele) Gerfy, his daughters; Deborah Lee Gerfy, Chicago, IL and Linda Michele Charlip , Chicago, IL, his granddaughter; Ashley Marie Halvorsen, his sister; Dorothy Ripple, Johnstown, PA., and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his brother-in-law the late Earl Ripple.

Visitation Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 1:00 PM, Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
