Richard L. Clarke
Of Arlington Heights

Richard L. Clarke was born August 30, 1916 in Chicago to Robert B. and Magdeline (nee Schell) Clarke. He died Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Addolorata Villa in Wheeling.

Mr. Clarke was a telephone installer for Illinois Bell Telephone Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1972. He worked in the Forestry Department for the Village of Arlington Heights from 1974 until 1980.

Richard served in the Navy during WW II. He was a former usher, choir member and Boy Scout Troop #66 Leader at St. James Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Richard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marie R. (nee Patt); his children Jacqueline (Dennis) Langguth of Winslow, IL , Richard L. (Sharon) Clarke III, of Bolingbrook, Paulette M. Clarke of Sarasota, FL, Bobette M. Ellingsworth of Bolingbrook, Michael J. (Cindy) Clarke of Winthrop Harbor, IL and Trude M. (Robert) Kmilek of Arlington Heights; his 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister Coletta Nelson.

Visitation from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 29, 2008 and from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Addolorata Villa, 555 McHenry Road, Wheeling. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, Masses are appreciated.
