He passed away on
October 6, 2008 in
Arlington Heights.
Dr. Sammons was a
graduate of Stritch
School of Medicine.
He was a family
physician in
Palatine during the
1960’s and was on
staff as a urologist
at Northwest
Community Hospital
and Alexian Brothers
Medical Center from
1970 until his
retirement in 1999.
He is survived by
his wife of 52
years, Sheila (nee
Waterloo); his
children, Thomas F.
(Anne) Sammons of
Palatine, Patrice
(Douglas) Goostree
of Elk Grove
Village, Michael
(Pam) Sammons of
Prospect Heights,
Matthew (Nancy)
Sammons of
Ingleside, Camille
(David) Shoaf of
Palatine and Greg
(Lisa) Sammons of
Palatine; his
grandchildren,
Caitlin, Thomas,
Emily, Ryan,
William, Steve,
Julie, Samantha,
Tyler, Haley,
Kendall, Lauren,
Quinn and Benjamin;
and his sister,
Renolda “Dee”
Mulvihill.
