Marilynn F. “Sis” “Skip” Hauptly
A lifelong resident of Arlington Heights

Marilynn Hauptly was born on June 25, 1923 in Arlington Heights to Gus and Ethel (nee Peter) Framberg. She passed away on October 18, 2007 at Northwest Community Health Care Center in Arlington Heights.

Skip was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights serving as Sunday school teacher, circle leader and deaconess. She was a charter member of the Arlington Heights Historical Society, charter member and past President of the Daisy Daniels Quester Chapter, past parliamentarian of the Illinois State Quester Organization, past president of the Arlington Heights Women’s Book Club, past president of the Hundred Couples Club, past president of the Arlington Heights Junior Women’s Club and past president of the Mt. Prospect American Legion Auxilary. She was the first woman president of the Arlington Heights Country Club, serving on the Board of Directors for 40 years. Sis was a Campfire Girls Group leader and room mother, PEO sister and a Scarlet Bloomer Red Hat extraordinaire. Known during the 70’s, the 80’s and the early 90’s as “The Bank Lady,” working at the downtown green bank of Arlington Heights. Often seen passing out dog treats to fun loving canine customers at the North side drive up. She later serving as a bank Vice President. Marilynn was a garage sale aficionado and antique/junk spotter. She was a lunchtime companion to countless partygoers. She was asked to play in many bridge clubs throughout the area not for her card playing abilities but for her social graces.

She is survived by her children, Janis Hauptly and Gregg (Verone) Hauptly, her “second daughter,” Barb Alt (nee Roth), cousins, Carol (Harold) Busse, Linda (Paul) Seils, Jeff (Pat) Beckman, Jan (Scott) Stievoetter, Carol (Al) Till and the extended Busse, Harris and Till families.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph E. “Hop” Hauptly, her brother, Harold “Bud” (the late Lorraine) Framberg and cousins, Margaret Beckman (nee Harris) and Jerry Busse

Visitation Sunday, October 21, 2007 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights and from 10:00 Am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights. Interment Memory Gardens.

If desired memorials may be made to the Arlington Heights Historical Society, First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights or the American Diabetes Association.
