Marylou Wiggs Cloos
She had many friends over her life.
She was known for her bright smile, cheerful personality, and her never-ending positive outlook on life. An accomplished musician, Marylou played the piano, organ, flute, piccolo and recorder. She taught piano to her treasured students for over 40 years and loved doing it. She played the organ at the First Baptist Church in Centralia for 25 years before retiring. She then joined and became active in the choir. Marylou was a long time member of PEO and was also active in the Centralia Cultural Society.
A member of the First Baptist Church for many years, she later joined St. John's Episcopal Church. Marylou was an excellent, avid golfer. She played as often as she could at Meadow Woods Country Club and later at Greenview Country Club.
She loved her bridge club group and their regular bridge club night. She enjoyed cooking and baked hundreds of Christmas cookies every holiday season for friends, family and shut-ins.
During his lifetime, they were active in the community and also traveled around the U.S. attending AICPA conventions, making numerous lifelong friends She married Jim Cloos in 1988, and he passed away in 1997.
A couple of years later, Marylou moved north to the Chicago area to be closer to her son and her grandchildren in Arlington Heights. She is survived by her son, Bill Wiggs, his wife Karen, and her grandchildren, David and Kristin.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4709 Golf Road, Suite 1015, Skokie, Illinois 60076 A memorial service will be held in Centralia at a future date and time. |
