Josef J. Ceisel was born February 27, 1923 in Deutsch-Proben, Slovakia to Adalbert and Maria (nee Kotschner) Zeisel. He died Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
Josef immigrated to the United States in 1952. In the early 1960’s, he co-founded North Suburban Masonry (presently Ceisel Masonry, Inc) with his close friend and business partner for over 45 years, the late Edwin McGuire.
Mr. Ceisel is survived by his wife, Sophie (nee Wesserle), whom he married on February 5, 1950 in Burguffeln, Germany; his children, Albert (Brenda) Ceisel, Marge (Frank Lucente) Schultes, Chris (Tim) Schmuker, and Edie Ceisel; his grandchildren, Ryan (Nicole), Joe, Scott, Jessica, Janette, and Peter; his brother, Jakob (Mina); his sister-in-law, Hedi Ceisel; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving father in 1929 and his loving mother in 1982; and his brother Rudolf in 2005.
Visitation from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, October 15, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and 9:00 AM, Monday, October 16, 2006 until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela Street, Barrington. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
