Irena D. Karwacki

Of Arlington Heights

Irena D. Karwacki was born January 6, 1927 in Szczurowa, Poland to Wawrzniec and Maria (nee Latas) Scholz.  She died Thursday, October 27, 2005 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois.

Before retiring Mrs. Karwacki and her late husband were co-owners of Jozef's Hair Goods Studio.  She was a member of Lattoff YMCA and St. James Women's Club.  Irena loved swimming, biking, gardening and reading.

Her survivors include her daughter Barbara Chwastek of Arlington Heights; her granddaughter Alexandra and her brother Stanley Scholz of Melbourne, Australia.

Irena is preceded in death by her husband Jozef, her son-in-law Peter and her parents.

Visitation 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights.  Prayers 9:15 AM, Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., proceeding to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM.  Burial will be at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles.
