Albert Donald "Don" Mitroff

Of Crystal Lake

Albert Donald Mitroff was born December 12, 1932 in Chicago to Anthony and Mary (nee Walter) Mitroff.  He died Thursday, October 20, 2005 at his home.

Mr. Mitroff was a Real Estate Developer and home builder.  He was Chairman of the Board for The Mitroff Group, Ltd., Mitroff Plumbing Company, Venture Sewer, and Bel Aire LLC, all for over 45 years.  Donald was an active member of the Mount Prospect Bible Church for 34 years where he served as a Board Member.  Additionally he was a founding elder of Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows where he served as past Chairman of the Board.  He was also the past Chairman of the Midwestern Christian Academy School Board and past Trustee of the Midwest Bible Church in Chicago.

Don Mitroff was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and believed all success or good that came his way was a direct blessing from God.  Put simply, Don Mitroff said "God has been very good to me and I did nothing to deserve it."  In over 45 years of business, having developed countless housing communities in the Northwest Suburbs, Chicago and southern Wisconsin, the Mitroff name came to stand for integrity and unsurpassed quality.  In his last days he remarked "I never went to work a day in my life.  God allowed me to do just exactly what I wanted to do.  I have no regrets.  God is good."

Don is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. (nee Best) whom he married on March 20, 1954; his sons Donald W. (Patricia A.) of Itasca, Richard M. (Lynn) of Crystal Lake, and David A. (Linda) of Crystal Lake; his grandchildren, Donald R., Kelly A., Michael A., Richard M. II, Bradley J., Blake W., David N., Corinne J. and Melanie K.; his sister Anna Mae Sauer
