Ardeth J. Slagh
Of Rolling Meadows

Ardeth J. Slagh was born on July 28, 1933 to Kenneth and Sophia (nee Emmons) Raymond in Vassar, Michigan.  She passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in Arlington Heights.

Ardeth loved to travel overseas with her husband, Marvin, enjoyed swimming, was a member of the Service League for handicapped children, a member of the “Singing Strings” of Arlington Heights and played for Sidewalk Days, Rotary, Northwest Builders Association and the A.H. Policeman Ball.  Ardeth modeled during her college days and was on the cover of Life magazine in October of 1954.  Ardeth loved to spend time with her family and was loved by all.
 
Ardeth is survived by  her children, Geoffrey (Dawn) Slagh of Wildwood,  Mary (Ralph) Rybacki of Long Grove, Sarah (Thomas) Balacek of Fox Lake, Jennifer Teufel of Franklin, TN and Eric (Sharon) Slagh of Hoffman Estates; her grandchildren, Stacy R. (Ryan) Paras, Laura R. (Jeffrey)  Zellman, David R., Martin and Erika Teufel, Jason Slagh, Danny and Kevin Hannan and Christi Balacek; her great grandchildren, Cameron Balacek, Michael Paras, Caroline Paras, and William Zellman, Jack Zellman;  her Sister, Sharon (Gerald) Thorp and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, whom she married October 2, 1954 in Gross Point Woods, MI; her parents and her brother Richard Raymond.

Memorial Visitation Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 12:00 pm until the time of the 1:30 pm Memorial Service the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights.  IL  60004.  A Luncheon to follow at the Francescas Restaurant.
