Salvatore Peter Macaluso
Of Arlington Heights

Salvatore Peter Macaluso was born on November 29, 1924 in Chicago to Angelo and Mary (nee Garfana) Macaluso. He died Thursday, September 5, 2013 in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Macaluso was a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where he pursued his passion for music by majoring in music education.  A lifelong lover of big band jazz music, he taught music in Iowa for a few years where he met his future wife.  He married and returned to Chicago where he spent the majority of his career in sales for Equitable life Insurance and Vicrtex Wall Covering. 
 
Salvatore is survived by his spouse of 61 years, Evelyn Macaluso, (nee Bills), whom he married November 17, 1951 in Mt. Carroll, IL; his children, William (Carol) Macaluso, Kathryn (Robert) Karcz, and Peg (Jeff Gonyo) Macaluso; his grandchildren, Joseph, Denise, Kelly, Emily, Anthony, Nathan, and Elena; and many nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his sister, Marie R. (Emmanuel) Migliorisi; and his parents.
 
Visitation  from 3pm until 9pm, Monday, September 9, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Hts Rd., Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said at 8:45am, Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the funeral home, proceeding to Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights for Mass at 9:30am. Entombment will be at All Saints in Des Plaines.
