Avery E. Harris
Of Arlington Heights

Avery E. Harris was born on September 5, 1942 in Chicago to Avery C. and Evelyn E. (nee Kozak) Harris. He died Monday, September 24, 2012 in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Harris graduated from Sullivan High School in Chicago and served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He had a long career in sales, including many years as a turf equipment specialist.

Avery was a history buff with an incredible memory for details. He enjoyed fishing, loved to golf and was a strong supporter of the Northwest Special Recreation Association.

He is survived by his dear aunt, Lorraine Bretag; and his cousins, including Sue (Norm) Nelson and Pam (Rob) Baker and their families. He is also survived by many dear friends.

Avery was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday, September 28, 2012 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Funeral Service 10:00 am, Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd. Interment will take place at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to NWSRA C/O SLSF, 3000 W. Central Rd., Rolling Meadows, IL 60008.
