Robert P. Marinier
Of Arlington Heights

Robert P. Marinier was born on December 26, 1927 in Oak Park, Illinois to Harry and Eugenie (nee Gagnon) Marinier. He passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 under Hospice care at Church Creek Healthcare Center, Arlington Heights.

Mr. Marinier worked 35 years as a benefits administrator for the Chicago Truck Driver’s Union. He was an active member of St. James Church for over 40 years where he participated in Choir and as both a Bereavement Minister and a Eucharistic Minister. He performed in several acting roles in a number of the church’s annual theater productions. He began barber shop chorus singing with the Arlingtones and then was a member of the award winning New Traditions chorus for over 18 years. He was well known for his handlebar mustache and sense of humor. He enjoyed traveling to many destinations over the years.

Robert is survived by his children Mary Ellen Bengal, Robert (Sandra) Marinier Jr. Julie (Michael) Mraz, Joan Sendra, Margaret (Perfecto) Hernandez and Renee (fiancé Bill Brockmann) Lee; his grandchildren Stephanie, Christina, Gregory and Kimberly Bengal, Jeni (Lloyd ) Gilreath, Robert (Orsi) Marinier III, Annmarie (Andrew) Thorne, Michael, Kathryn and Elizabeth Mraz, Patricia Barrett, Stanley, Stephen and Mary Sendra, Christophe and Devin Hill, Patrick and Shannon Lee; seven great grandchildren; his sister Virginia (William) Bear and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Pat; his son, Edward Marinier; his parents and his son-in-law Stanley Sendra.

Visitation from 3:00 until 8:00 PM, Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Prayers 9:15 AM, Monday, September 10, 2012 from the Funeral Home, proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois for Mass at 10:00 AM. Internment at All Saints Cemetery.
