Robert P. Dove

Robert P. Dove was born March 26, 1935 in Washington, DC to Robert Francis and Linda Mae (Gillespie) Dove. He died on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in Prospect Heights, IL.

Mr. Dove served in the Air Force from 1959 to 1979. During his service he worked for the Defense Investigative Service, Department of Defense. He also served in the office of Special Investigations and was part of a security detail for Richard Nixon’s campaign. Among his commendations are the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, the Air Force Longevity Service Award w/4 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the National Defense Service Medal.
He is survived by his sons, Robert II (Donna) Dove of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Mark (Cheryyl) Dove of Prospect Heights, IL; his grandchildren, Robert, Caitlyn, David, Daina, Lena, Benjamin, Mollie, Kaitlyn, Campbell, Conner, Micah, Jamie, Braden, and Barrett; and his brother William Francis (Louise) Dove.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Ann (nee DeSerio) Dove and by his parents.

Visitation from 4:30 PM until time of funeral service 7:30 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL. Interment is Monday at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Covenant Reformed Church of Elk Grove, P.O. Box 486 Elk Grove Village, IL 60009.
