John K. Reder
Of Wheeling
John K. Reder, 66, of Wheeling, beloved husband and best friend of
Henrietta (nee Misztal) Reder; devoted father and buddy of John H.;
loving brother of Marybeth J. (Dennis) Baum, Jeanne D. Reder, and the
late Kathleen M. (the late Kerry) Tinker; devoted son-in-law of Henry
and Angeline Misztal; fond brother-in-law of Leonard and Theresa Misztal;
dear uncle and great uncle of many.
John proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Viet Nam
War. He was stationed at Cam Ranh Bay where he served in the 12th
Tactical Fighter Wing. His love for his country was overshadowed by his
love for his wife of 36 years, Henrietta and their son, John. John’s
devotion to his son, who has autism, was a joy to behold. Their bond as
father and son was so close, that words were never needed. John’s
advocacy on behalf of his son and the residents of the Ann Kiley Center
was unwavering. He was a member and past president of the Friends of Ann
Kiley Center, where his leadership, friendship and sense of humor will
be sorely missed.
John had a long, distinguished career in the securities industry. He
served as executive vice president for First Options of Chicago for many
years and in later years owned his own printing business. He enjoyed his
retirement and had the opportunity to reconnect with family members and
friends and indulged in performing gourmet cooking at home.
He will always be in our hearts and our fond memories of him will be
treasured dearly. We love you, John.
