Dolores C. Stephan
Of Arlington Heights
Dolores C. Stephan passed peacefully September 3, 2011 in Arlington
Heights, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 14, 1929 in Point Marion, PA to Anthony and
Elizabeth (Politano) Rivoli. Dolores attended South Hills High School
and graduated from Pittsburgh Business School.
Dolores began working at the Wheeling Township office in 1974. During
that time, she served six terms as the Township Assessor from 1981 to
2005, where she especially enjoyed making house calls to homebound
senior citizens and those with disabilities. She also worked as a
realtor since 1981, most recently with Prudential Starck Realtors.
Dolores was actively involved at St. Edna Catholic Church teaching
religion education and serving on various committees. She was
passionately involved in the Republican Party, campaigning for various
candidates.
Dolores is survived by her children; Maria E. Manning and Linda T. (Tom)
Karch, her grandchildren, Ryan Manning, and Justin and Lukas Karch, and
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Ernie, as
well as her siblings Rose Piluso, Norma Nash, and Tony, Gilbert, and
Armand Rivoli.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 9, 2011 from 3 until 9 PM at the
Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks
south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Saturday, September 10,
2011 at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road,
Arlington Heights from 9AM until the time of Funeral Mass at 10AM.
Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Dementia Research,
cdr.rfmh.org, or St. Edna Catholic Church, Arlington Heights.
