Virginia Veit
Of Crystal Lake, formerly of Arlington Heights

Virginia Veit was born on August 14, 1927 in Chicago to Robert and Viola (nee Danner) Cummins. She passed away on September 6, 2010 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Crystal Lake.

Virginia loved to travel and enjoyed playing the organ. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (Patrick) McKay of Palmer, Alaska, David (Karen) Veit of King George, VA, William (Tina) Veit of Cary, IL, Mary Zeck of Gurnee, Ellen (Michael) Pekovitch of Huntley and Peter (Cindy) Veit of Cary, NC; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren;

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred R. Veit; her son, Paul; daughters, Mary Frances and Barbara; her brother, James Cummins; her sister, Marjorie Thornton; and her parents.

Visitation Friday, September 10, 2010 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Saturday, September 11, 2010 at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or to Family Alliance Inc., 2028 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, IL 60098.
