Howard E. Kagay
Of Prospect Heights

Howard E. Kagay was born on March 20, 1932 in Palatine to Vernon V. and Matilda (nee Becker) Kagay. He passed on September 3, 2010 at Lutheran General Hospital.

Howard was a veteran of the Army having served during the Korean War. He was a life member of Rotary International and a life member of Gideon’s International. Howard served as President of the MAP MLS from 1981-1983 and served as a director from 1975 to 1987. He was a real estate manager and salesman for ten years at Bruns Real Estate and 20 years at Baird and Warner. He served as director of the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce and also served on the Arlington Heights Commercial and Industrial Commission. Howard was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights for over 50 years.

Howard is survived by his wife, Rachel (nee Leimer) Kagay; his children, Anita (Paul) Moss of Arlington Heights, Marcia (David) Hettinger of Wheaton and Howard Jr. (Michele) Kagay of Grayslake; and his grandchildren, Christopher and Jennifer Moss, Angela and Brian Hettinger and Alyssa, Alex and Jared Kagay.

Visitation 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd.,(four blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights. Interment Randhill Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800 or to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
