Edward F. Laban
Of Arlington Heights

Edward F. Laban was born June 24, 1930 in Chicago to Frank and Elizabeth (nee Schultz) Laban. He died Friday, August 31, 2007 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.

Mr. Laban was a civil engineer employed with Consoer Townsend & Associates of Chicago for over 40 years before he retired in June of 1995. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Edward’s survivors include his wife of 51 years, Kathleen T. nee Barry, whom he married May 5, 1956; his children Thomas (Melonie) Laban of Lake Zurich and Coleen (John) Forsythe of South Elgin; his grandchildren Stephanie Heller, Caitlyn Laban, Ryan Forsythe, Alyssa Forsythe, Michael (Beth) Pilaski, Greg (Martha) Pilaski and Cindy Pilaski; seven great grandchildren; and his brother James (Carol) Laban.

He is preceded in death by his son Michael and his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM, Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial at St. Casimir Cemetery in Chicago.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. James Catholic Church Building Fund, 820 N. Arlington Hts. Rd., Arl. Hts., IL 60004.
