Richard G. Bickel
of Park Ridge

Richard G. Bickel was born May 14, 1927 in Chicago to Edward and Katherine (nee Gibis) Bickel. He died September 21, 2005 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Bickel was the grounds and building superintendent for Kraft Foods for over 30 years.

Richard was the devoted husband and best friend of Rosemary (nee Kolarik), whom he married September 13, 1952; the loving father of Katherine (Paul) Sompolski of Rolling Meadows, and their children Susan and Sara, Carolyn Bickel of Arlington Heights, and her children, Amie, Tina, Michael, and Richard and the late Susan Marie Bickel; the baby brother of Teresa Tivner, Frances Surges, the late Edward Bickel, and Dorothy Kilgore. The one and only "Pa" to all his grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2005 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers will be held 9:15 AM, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 A.M. Burialnwill be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
