Karen Elaine Belsha
Of Palatine

Karen Belsha, nee Yust, fifty-four years old, died September 14, 2005 after her heroic battle with brain cancer.

 

Karen was the awesome wife of Pete Belsha for thirty-two years. Her two daughters, Stephanie Maldonado and Jennifer Belsha, together with husband, Jose Maldonado and fiancé Steve Wallace will miss her greatly. Karen's mother and mother-in-law are Alvera Yust and Ruth Belsha both of St. Louis Missouri. Karen was preceded in death by her father, James Yust and father-in-law Dr. Elmer Belsha. Karen's brother, Jim Yust and his wife, Linda Yust reside in St. Louis. Their two sons, Kris and Jason live in St. Louis and Seattle. Karen will also be missed by the families of her four brothers-in-law, Dennis and Kris Belsha with children Greg & spouse Jen Belsha, Cherlyn, spouse Bill & daughter Madison McBride, and Meredith Belsha of Lemont, Ill, Tom and Robin Belsha with children Tom & spouse Jerissa Belsha, John Belsha, and Rebecca Belsha of Houston, Robert Belsha of St. Louis, and Dr. Craig and Diane, daughter Rachel and daughter Megan Belsha of St. Louis. Karen was supported by her family, many friends, neighbors of the Pebble Creek Subdivision, her sorority sisters and her church. All are gratefully thanked.

Karen was a wife, mother, daughter, friend, avid gardener, sister in the Delta Gamma Sorority, and active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Karen graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1973 and has been employed in customer service, retail management, outside sales, real estate, and for fifteen years the Recycled Paper Products Company as a greeting card representative. Karen, a twenty-one year resident of Palatine, was born in St. Louis and lived in New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, suburban Washington DC, and St. Louis County.

Visitation Sunday, September 18, 2005 from 3 to 8 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd. 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd..) Arlington Heights. Funeral Monday 10:00 AM, Monday, September 19, 2005 with a visitation for one hour proceeding the service at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 N. Hicks Road, Palatine, IL.

 

Interment, Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to be given to Prince of Peace or the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern Memorial Hospital www.cancer.northwestern.edu
