Jackson W. Anderson
Of Bloomingdale

Jackson W. Anderson was born on October 17, 1934 in Devil's Lake, ND to Lloyd Anderson and Selma (nee Weaver) Woods. He died Sunday, August 25, 2013 in Elk Grove Village.

Jackson worked as an Insurance Agent in the Chicago area. He graduated from high school in Jamestown, ND in 1952. He was a champion marksman in high school and loved to hunt.  Jackson enrolled in the National Guard when he was 17 and was on active duty with the United States Army from 1961 until 1965.  While working in Chicago, he obtained his Master’s Degree from DePaul University and his PhD from California Western University.  Additionally, he was an avid reader all his life and loved to garden. Jackson was actively involved with the public library, several condo associations and Mended Hearts.  He had a lifelong love of learning and travel, and enjoyed volunteering and teaching.   He will be missed by his family and friends.

Jackson is survived by his spouse Minda (nee Gabonada) Anderson and former spouse Ethel (nee Baker) Anderson; children Dawn (Doug) Zieman, Jackson (Terry) Anderson Jr., Tamara (John) Sequeira, and Jason (Amanda) Anderson; grandfather to 14  grandchildren; and great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty (Tex) Wilkinson.
 
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Song Ja (nee Lim) Anderson, of 35 years; his parents; and brother, Robert (Betty) Anderson.
 
Visitation Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 2:00 pm until the time of the 4:00 pm Funeral Service at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL.  60004.  Interment is private.
