Frank R. De Rosa
Of Arlington Heights
Frank R. De Rosa was born on June 3, 1923 in
Chicago to Frank and Virginia (nee Azzarello) De
Rosa. He died Thursday, August 1, 2013 in
Arlington Heights.
Frank worked for the National Broadcasting
Company for 44 years. He served in the United
States Army 793rd military police battalion
during WWII in the European Theatre. He remained
dedicated to the military police association and
was promoted to Staff Sergeant and honored as a
life-time member in October, 2012. Frank was
active in Arlington Heights Village affairs,
including the Senior Advisory Commission,
president of the Senior Center Advisory Board,
and received the Dr. Kenneth Hood Award and,
with wife, Dolores, the Hearts of Gold Award in
2003. He was also a member of the Elk Grove
Village American Legion Memorial Post 216.
Frank is survived by his wife, Dolores (nee
Smith) De Rosa; his children, Frank (Maureen) De
Rosa, Susan (John) Palombi, and Diane (Joseph)
De Rosa-Reynolds; his grandchildren, Joseph
(Becky) De Rosa, Eddie (Kendal) Palombi, Amanda
Jorgensen, Colleen De Rosa, Christie (Mark)
Rivera, Tony Palombi, Samantha (Robert) Kaplan
and Joseph Reynolds; his great-grandchildren,
Trever, Joey, Ainsley, Adison, Naomi, Parker,
and Bennett; and his sister, Jacqueline Garazin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Sunday,
August 4, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd.,
1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south
of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Prayers
8:45 am Monday, August 5, 2013 at Glueckert
Funeral Home, Ltd. proceeding to Our Lady of the
Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell,
Arlington Heights for Mass at 9:30 am. Interment
private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a
charity of your choice.
