Helen F. Skladzien

Helen F. Skladzien, formerly of Mt. Prospect, was born October 18, 1925 in Chicago to Joseph and Katharine (nee Gala) Sliwa. She passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.

Mrs. Skladzien worked as a secretary for the Glenbrook South High School.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail (David) Sheluga of Roselle; her grandchildren, Alex and Katie Sheluga; and her brother, Emil Sliwa.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert “Gil” Skladzien; and by her parents.

Visitation from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights. Interment is at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Shrine of St. Jude, 1910 S. Ashland Ave., Chicago, IL 60608 or St. Alphonsus Ligouri Church.
