Richard George Arling
Of Oak Brook

Richard G. Arling was born December 30, 1939 in Chicago to Arthur George and Doris Elizabeth (nee Crowley) Arling. He died on Thursday, August 4, 2011.

Richard served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a firefighter for the Village of Oak Brook from 1968 until 1992, and also the Chief Building Inspector from 1968 until 2003. He was a member of the Elks Club, the Elmhurst American Legion Post # 0187, and he was a NRA Golden Eagle.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Joyce Ann (nee Nabazas) Heitschel-Arling; his children, Dione Arling Brown of Crystal Lake, and Caryn Arling of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchildren, Darling and Evalea Brown; and his siblings, Jack Arling, Sue Koe, Jill Wilson, and Marianne Stark.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial visitation Saturday, August 20, 2011 from until 4:00 PM until time of Veteran’s Presentation, Bell Service and Military Honors at 7:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights.
