Donald W. Daniels
Of Arlington Heights
Donald W. Daniels was born August 8, 1925 in Detroit, MI. to Watson and
Doris (nee Datcher). He died on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at The
Moorings Health Center in Arlington Heights.
Mr. Daniels served in the Navy during WWII on LST 680. Don owned and
operated Visual Direction, a commercial art company for 45 years. In
retirement, he was an accomplished and award winning artist. Many of his
watercolor paintings were displayed in galleries throughout the
Chicagoland area and Florida. Don was an avid golfer who shot his age
just weeks before his passing.
He is survived by his children Bradley (Deborah) Daniels, Linda (Dennis)
Mc Donald and Sandra (Peter) Cochrane; grandchildren Lindsey (Steven),
Kelly, Kara, Eric, Patrick, Michael, Emily, James and Erin; siblings
Ralph (Donna) Daniels and Shirley (Norman) Peterson.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Carol (nee Bay) and
by his parents.
Visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the
Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks
south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, and Monday, August 15, 2011
from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service 11:00 AM at Southminster
Presbyterian Church, 916 E. Central Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment is
at Hayden Chapel Cemetery, Albia, IA.
