Robert Eugene Rossdeutcher was born on June 5, 1935 to Edward and
Margaret (nee Wagner) in Volo, Ill. He passed away on August 4, 2011.
Mr. Rossdeutcher was the owner of Rossdeutcher Masonry. In his youth, he
was a Golden Gloves boxer in Chicago. He enjoyed shooting pool,
attending horse races and his grandchildren’s sporting events. His
favorite sayings were “one and done” and “it’s five o’clock somewhere.”
Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Marie (nee Steber); his
children, Bob (Anne) Rossdeutcher of Hawthorn Woods, Steve (Peggy)
Rossdeutcher of Elk Grove Village and his daughter-in-law, Christine
Rossdeutcher of Mount Prospect; his grandchildren, Tyler, Emily,
Melanie, Julia, Robert, Blake, Brian and Carly; his siblings Larry
(Maria) Rossdeutcher, Peg (Jim) Sobeski, Virginia “Ginger” Rossdeutcher
and brother-in-law Bill Steber; several nieces and nephews; and
Godfather of eight.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Kevin.
Visitation from 3:00 until 8:00 PM, Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the
Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks
south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Monday,
August 8, 2011at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church,
831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM.
Interment All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of
Northeastern Illlinois, 410 South Hager Avenue, Barrington, IL 60010 or
to Team Rossi (Kevin Rossdeutcher Memorial Wrestling Scholarship), c/o
