Jason
E. Chin
Of Arlington Heights
Jason E. Chin, son of Mary and Eddie Chin, brother to Justina (born May
6, 1982) was a man who brought out the best in his friends and never
allowed other people’s opinions to stop him from doing anything. He died
unexpectedly on August 21st, 2010, at Northwest Community Hospital in
Arlington Heights.
He set the bar high so that when his friends were making a decision,
they asked, “What Would Chin Do?” (WWCD). When he chose a friend he
would do anything for them, no questions asked. He lived in a black and
white world with a mischievous sense of humor. Even his favorite team
was the White Sox.
Jason lived his own values. What was typical of Jason was that if
someone told him that it couldn’t be done, he made sure it happened
(i.e. the birth of the Chin Cradle-a new wrestling move that the coach
said could never work). His single minded determination led to being
given the Dan Whittemore Award for Courage and Determination. Being
named co-captain of the Hersey Football team wasn’t about being
recognized by others, but a natural result of doing his best.
In addition to his parents and sister, Jason is survived by; his
grandparents, Yin Bing and Yuk King Moy and Sue Chin; his aunts and
uncles, Lina (Ron) Hamilton, Betty (Saulius) Ploplys, Marline (Matt)
Wicks, Susie (Jon) Forde, Karen Chin, Carol (Mike) Curda, Bill (Mary)
Moy, and Donna (Jeff) Clarke; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Chin.
