Margaret C. Brandel was born May 26, 1923 in Chicago to Charles and Elsie (nee Czajkowski) Koss. She died August 9, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, peacefully with her family by her side.

Margaret was a long time care giver for her husband John. She was a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church and an election judge for several districts for many years.

Margaret is survived by her sister Geraldine (late William) Roche; her nephews William (Susan) and Michael Roche, her nieces Christine Roche and Claudia (Carl) Segneri and her great nieces and nephews Megan, Patrick, Timothy, Alexis, Brittany and Michael.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband John D. Brandel whom she married September 21, 1946 and by her parents.

Visitation from 5 until 8 PM, Thursday, August 13, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Friday, August 14, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment private.
