Richard J. Baranowski

Richard J. Baranowski was born on January 12, 1922 in Chicago to Stanley and Stella Baranowski. He passed away on August 9, 2009 in Sarasota, FL.

Richard served as a Chief Petty Officer in the Coast Guard during WWII. He served 42 months on a support vessel for the fleet in the South Pacific at Iwo Jima, Guam, Okinawa and at the surrender.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, nee Vrablik; his children, Donna of Bradenton, FL, Richard (Mary) of Arlington Heights and Craig (Trudy) of Roselle; his grandchildren, April, R.J., and Kateri; and his sister Lorraine (the late Paul) Brilbeck.

Visitation 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights and Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights. Entombment All Saints.
