Patrick J. Arthur
Of Palatine
Patrick J. Arthur
was born October 20,
1943 in Des Moines,
Iowa to Chester
Edward and Ann
Catherine (nee
Hogan) Arthur. He
died Wednesday, July
30, 2008 at
Northwestern
Memorial Hospital in
Chicago.
Pat was an avid
sailor; plying the
waters of Lake
Michigan, the
Atlantic Ocean, the
Hawaiian Islands,
and the Caribbean
Islands offered him
many sailing
adventures to
entertain everyone.
He was coined “Capn
Pat” by many, and in
fact his fellow
co-workers even
placed a sign on his
office door “Capn
Pat is out making
sails calls” when he
was out of the
office. When not
sailing, Pat also
enjoyed skiing,
biking and model
railroading. While
Pat had many
interests and
hobbies, his
greatest love was
always time spent
with his family; he
could spend
countless hours
talking about his
six grandchildren
that he so loved and
cherished.
Pat spent 40 years
in the printing
industry working for
some of the world’s
largest printers; he
earned many honors
and awards for his
endeavors and
achievements,
including
salesperson of the
year several times
over the course of
his career. He
served in the Air
Force during the
Vietnam War.
His survivors
include his wife
Linda S. nee Simon;
his daughters Amber
(Peter) Ross of
Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
and Erin (Steven)
Arnold of Huntley,
Illinois; his six
grandchildren, his
sister Teri Bryant.,
his mother Ann
Arthur, and his aunt
Sister Madalyn
Hogan.
Funeral Mass and
Interment were held
August 2, 2008.
In lieu of flowers,
