Mary E. “Molly” Belmont Long Grove
Mary E. “Molly” Belmont (nee Sutton), 67, of Long Grove; beloved wife of the late Richard “Dick” John Belmont. Molly was born and raised in Chicago and graduated with a nursing degree from St. Joseph . She was married to Dick for 40 years and raised 3 lovely children. She was the epitome of grace and yet modest in her own means; always second to those she knew and loved. Having fought a long hard battle with pancreatic cancer and in a clinical trial for almost 4 years, she survived longer than anyone predicted, including her doctors. She will be remembered most for her tremendous faith in God, her generosity to friends and her family. In life, her mantra included being thankful for what you have and to give unconditionally to those in need. Even in her suffering hours, she remained active in church and still volunteered bringing meals to PADS. Her unyielding devotion to God and giving back to others touched the heart and soul of everyone who knew her. “Mom, we have been blessed to have you in our lives and will miss you terribly. May you be in Peace with Dad at your side walking hand-in- hand toward the green flash over the Pacific Ocean.” Her spirit lives in the hearts of many: Her children Kathleen (David) Kaminski, Michael (Sital) Belmont, Suzanne (John) Finucane; her grandchildren Zach and Ethan Kaminski and Nicholas Belmont; her sister Nanette and brother Thomas Sutton; her nieces Stevi Sutton, Amy Butzen and Kelly Robinson; her many Godchildren and cherished others.
