Barbara Jane Pollack-Ullman
of Lantana, Florida, formerly of Chicago, Illinois

Barbara Jane Pollack-Ullman was born January 7, 1938 to William and Lillian (nee Raisanen) Pollack. She died Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Barbara was employed as a victims counselor in the Domestic Violence Unit with the State Attorney of Palm Beach County, Florida. Through her work, she was instrumental in assisting victims of domestic violence not only with court proceedings, but also in helping them regain their dignity and self-esteem. She was an advocate for the victim as well as the children. When Barbara was in the area, she liked to attend Willow Creek Community Church for Sunday Services. She loved her family and cherished her grandchildren.

Ms. Ullman is survived by her beloved friend, Joan Vanek “Grandma Go-Go” of Palm Beach, Florida; her children Bill ( fiancé Leslie Sackett) Leith of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and Polly (Jack) Powers of Palatine, Illinois; her grandchildren Boston “Mac” and Abbigail Powers of Palatine, her brothers, William (Sandi) Pollack of Townsend, Wisconsin and John Pollack of Chicago, Illinois.

Barbara was preceded into death by her parents.

Visitation 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Hts. Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004,( 4 blocks south of Palatine Road). Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2007 at Bethel Methodist Church in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. In State at 12:00 p.m. until time of Service. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in ElkHorn.
