Maureen Lavin

Maureen Lavin was born on October 5, 1923 in Chicago to James and Alice (nee Furlong) Doyle. She died Friday, July 19, 2013 in Arlington Heights.

Maureen dedicated her love, time, and energy to her family. She was our rock, our matriarch, our loving, guiding light, and our joy and laughter.

Maureen is survived by her children, Kathleen (John ) Trecka, James Lavin, Timothy (Connie) Lavin, and Terrence Lavin; her grandchildren, Brian (Paloma) Trecka, Mark Trecka, Timothy Lavin, Jr., Katelyn Lavin, and Sean Lavin; her great-grandson, Roman Trecka; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Lavin and Mildred Doyle; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Lavin; her granddaughter, Kelly Maureen Trecka; and her siblings, Walter Doyle, Seamus Doyle, Mark Doyle, Alice Simpson, and Matthew Doyle.

Visitation from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Monday, July 22, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Hts. Rd., Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 8:45 am, Tuesday, July 23, 2013 proceeding to Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights for Mass at 9:30 am. Burial at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
