Elsie E. Griesch
Of Prospect Heights

Elsie E. Griesch (nee Grader) a 59-year resident of Prospect Heights was
born June 2, 1922 in Chicago and she died peacefully on July 9th 2013 at her home. She is preceded in death by her husband (Alger) of 57 years of marriage and her parents Alois and Elsie Grader (nee Meisinger).

Elsie was passionate about education and encouraged those around her to explore it also. She earned her teaching degree by studying via TV College while at home with her young children and ultimately graduated from Northeastern Illinois State College Chicago. She taught elementary school at Prospect Heights District #23 for 20 years until she retired and particularly loved the 3rd grade level. In retirement she enjoyed her bridge and book clubs, her golf and bowling leagues, movies and live plays and tutoring her grandchildren.

Elsie is survived by her children, Ronald (Anna) Griesch of Wonder Lake, Gary (Rita) Griesch of Niles, Eileen (Dan) Hatcher of Hickory NC., and Mariellen Griesch of Bloomingdale; her grandchildren, Erin (Shane) Williams, Alyssa Griesch, Kevin (Mindy) Hatcher, Paul (Ashley) Hatcher, Andrew Hatcher; and her great-grandchildren Rylee Williams, Elly Mitchell and Abigail and Nathaniel Hatcher.

Friends are invited for lunch Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at Elsie’s residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Midwest Pallative & Hospice CareCenter, 2050 Claire Ct., Glenview, IL 60025.
