Charles Francis “Chick” Simpson
Of Arlington Heights

Chick Simpson was born on February 2, 1923 in Oak Park to John and Anna (nee Kilbride) Simpson. He died Monday, July 8, 2013 at his home.

Mr. Simpson served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII and worked as a Vice President of Sales and Officer for Chicago Freight Car Co. for 36 years until his retirement in 1984. He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church where he was a care minister for almost 30 years, serving four years as the program coordinator. He also was a pastoral care minister at Northwest Community Hospital for nearly 30 years.

Chick is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen (nee Brennan) Simpson; his children, Diane Simpson, John C. Simpson, Thomas J. (Betsey) Simpson, Mary Ellen Skwarek, Janet M. (Robert) McCall, and Charles F. (Nancy) Simpson; his grandchildren, Jenna, Michael and Meghan Skwarek, Riley Simpson, Matthew McCall, Amelia and Ashleigh Simpson.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, William (Alice) and John (Mary Rita) Simpson, and Joan (Thomas) Brown; and by his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM Friday, July 12, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Committal Service 12:15 PM at Queen of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, 1400 S. Wolf Rd., Hillside.
