Mary Catherine Ebel

Mary Catherine Ebel was born on September 21, 1921 in Chicago to Paul and Katherine (nee Kaufmann) Becker. She died at home Sunday, June 30, 2013 in Arlington Heights.

John and Mary left the city and moved into the house that John built in Arlington Heights in 1952. Mrs. Ebel was a longtime member of St. James Parish and the Women's Club.

Mary is survived by her children, Mary Jo (Marty) Hahnfeld, John P. (Claudia) Ebel, Paul T. (Rick Koenig) Ebel, Catherine E. (David) Bertz, and Edward J. Ebel; her grandchildren, Marty (Linda), Jennifer (Brian), Sherry (Vince), Scott (Trish), Melissa (Matt), Nicole (Chris), and Carly; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Paula (Ray) Colonius.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Ebel; her son, Robert P. Ebel, and her parents.

Visitation from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday, July 5, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights. Prayers at 10:45 am Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the funeral home, proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:30 am. Burial at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Office of Development, Sisters of Charity - BVM, 1100 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, Iowa 52003-7991.
