James P. Murphy
Of Wauconda

James P. Murphy was born on July 9, 1923 in Dubuque, Iowa to Patrick and Bess (nee Merrill) Murphy. He died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 in Wauconda.

James was a veteran of WWII having served in the Navy as a submariner on the USS Grouper.

James is survived by his daughters, Barbara (the late James) Kelly, Janet (Frank Swekosky) Murphy and Kathleen (David Losso) Sullivan; his grandchildren, James (Capri) Kinney, Carrie (John) Myklusch, Matthew (Samara) Tuchband and Laura (Colin) Taylor; his great-grandchildren, Beckett and Cassie Myklusch and Logan and Harper Tuchband; and his sister, Kit Geary.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann R. Murphy (nee Lynch); his parents; his two brothers and four sisters.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, July 27, 2012 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Prayer service 10:30 AM Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Funeral Home. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
