Mildred Holm
Of Northbrook/ Glenview
Mildred Holm was born December 9,
1922 in Chicago to Frank and
Constance (nee Kluczynski) Knitter.
She died peacefully on Monday, July
23, 2012 at Hospice of Northeastern
Illinois in Barrington.
Mrs. Holm was employed by Allstate
Insurance Company as a travel
coordinator and retired after 19
years of service. Mildred was one of
the original members of St.
Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in
Glenview. She crocheted over 450
baby blankets for the Linus Project
and made countless winter scarves
for the homeless and veterans.
She is survived by her children,
Nancy M. (John) Spohnholtz of
Barrington and Harry “Skip” (Heike)
Holm of Buffalo Grove; her
grandchildren, Catherine Spohnholtz,
Laura (John) Donahue, and Chelsea
and Brenden Holm; and great
granddaughter Morgan Donahue, and
was loved by many nieces and
nephews.
Mildred is preceded in death by her
husband of 68 years, Harry H. Holm,
her parents and her siblings, Henry
(Mary) Knitter, Edward (Vicky)
Knitter, Paul (Rose) Knitter, and
Florence (Richard) Certik.
Visitation from 4:00 PM until 9:00
PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the
Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520
N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks
south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington
Heights. Family and Friends will
meet at St. Catherine Laboure
Catholic Church, 3535 Thornwood
Ave., Glenview for Mass at 10:00 AM
on Thursday, July 26, 2012.
Entombment is at All Saints
Mausoleum in Des Plaines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be given to
