John E. “Jocko” Schoenbeck
Sr.
Of Arlington Heights
John E. “Jocko” Schoenbeck was born February 11, 1934 in Arlington
Heights to Arthur and Pearl (nee Scharringhausen) Schoenbeck. He passed
away on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at his home in Arlington Heights.
John was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lorraine (nee Kamps); his
children, John Jr. (Jennifer) Schoenbeck of Arlington Heights, Linda
(Howard) Plontke of Arlington Heights and Jeff (Robin) Schoenbeck of
Mercer, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Jonathan Plontke and Clinton
Schoenbeck, his great grandson, Brian Schoenbeck ; his siblings, Joy
(Bob) Reptowski and Gene (the late Ruth) Schoenbeck.
Jocko was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Kimmy Brackett.
Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Monday, July 25, 2011 at the
Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks
south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service at 11:00 AM,
Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment
Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice &
Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Road,
Barrington, IL 60010.
