Diane Rose Kennedy
Of Arlington Heights
Diane Rose Kennedy was born December 21, 1955 in Menominee, Michigan to
Walter Robert and Norma Margaret (nee Dionne) Knoll. She passed away on
July 12, 2011.
Mrs. Kennedy was a Cub Scout Leader, a mother of two Eagle Scouts, a
School of Religion Teacher and an extraordinary Ministry of Communion
for shut-ins at St. James Church. She authored a booklet “How to Pray
the Rosary” and made and repaired hundreds of rosaries over the years.
She achieved a lifelong dream of a college degree with honors through
Harper Community College in 2007 and a BA with honors from Roosevelt
University in 2009. She sought a Masters in Written Communication from
National Louis University where she wrote “Gilda’s Ghost”, an award
winning piece on both of their battles with Ovarian cancer.
However, the most important elements of Diane’s life were her love of
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for His mystical body The Church, and
for His Mother, Mary ever Virgin.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, David Kennedy, whom she
married April 11, 1986 in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin; her children, Erik
Kennedy of Seattle, WA, and Austin Kennedy of Dayton, OH; and her sister
Rita (Jeff) Rupert of Marinette, WI.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents.
