Of Wheeling, formerly of Highland Park and Clinton, Iowa
William C. Rigby, Jr. was born on July 8, 1942 in Chicago to W. Charles and Rebecca (nee Adams) Rigby, Sr. He died on July 26, 2010 at his home in Wheeling.
Before his retirement in 2007, William worked for New York Life Insurance, as a salesman for 15 years, at the Great Frame Up in Buffalo Grove and for 10 years in the Customer Service Department at Federal Express. He was a member of the Elks Club in Quincy and past President of the Jaycee’s in Clinton, Iowa. William enjoyed collecting antiques, movies and nutcrackers. He loved Christmas and collected many Christmas items, also known as “Mr. Christmas” to his family. He loved his family and was loved by all.
William is survived by his wife of 22 years, Carol (nee Glon) Rigby, whom he married on April 2, 1988 in Des Plaines; his children, Bill Rigby of Knoxville, Tennessee, JoAnn Jackson of Waukegan and Sean (Dawn) Rigby of Oglesby; his grandchildren, Ashley Dryden, Heather (Stephen) Brown, Tyler Rigby, Austin Knapp and Amanda Jackson; his sister, Judy Rigby, his step-brother Jerry (Kerry) Mitchell, his sister-in-law, Norma Rigby, his brother- in-law, Robert (Laura) Glon; and his nieces and nephews, Tom (Gina) Osborne, Roger Rigby, Jr., Wendy (Louis) Belletini, Nikki (Bob) Jones, John (Ursula) Angel and Ray and Dan Glon; and his step-mother Betty Rigby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roger Rigby and his sister-in-law Judy Angel.
Memorial visitation from 10:00 AM until time of Memorial Service at 12:00 PM, Saturday, July 31, 2010 at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Private.
