Of Barrington
Shirley A. Cook was born on April 19, 1922 in Benton Harbor, MI to George A. and Cuba (nee Kuhl) Bauer. She passed away on July 24, 2010 in Barrington.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, William E. Cook; her children, William G. (Jennie), Michael R. (Pamela), V. Susan and Peter J.; her grandchildren, William Michael (Kim), Andrew P. (Elizabeth), Shanon M. (Howard) Filip, Timothy M., Anthony N. (Jennifer), Steven E., Ryan P., Victoria K., Cary J. and Jessica M.; and her great-grandchildren, Riley, Keely, Tiernan, Ellie, Benjamin, Preston, Rhyse and Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, George E. (Jean Marie) Bauer and Richard A. (the late Jean) Bauer.
Visitation 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 1:00 PM until the time of Mass at 1:30 PM at St. Anne Catholic Church, 306 Franklin, Barrington. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607.
