Sandra Jean Schulstad was the daughter of Herbert and Mary Alice (nee Stevenson) Elke. She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Julia (nee Fiala) Elke shortly after her birth date, April 14, 1939. She passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Friendship Village in Schaumburg.
She is survived by her children, Linda Shafernich of Arnold , Maryland, Lori (Dave) Appelhans of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Lance (Patti) Schulstad of Arlington Heights; her grandchildren, Addison Nemmers, Alex, Kari and Paul Shafernich, Tate Apelhans, Matthew, Christopher, and Emily Schulstad; and her brother, William (Marcia) Elke of Huntley.
Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gordon Schulstad, and her parents.
Visitation is from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, and Monday, July 19, 2010 from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral service at 10:00 AM at Edison Park Lutheran Church, 6626 N. Oliphant, Chicago. Burial is at Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Edison Park Lutheran Church.
