John
Louis Bolus
Of Arlington Heights
“Lou” was born in Waterville Maine on March 29, 1922. He was the
youngest of three boys born to Amilia & Norman Boulos. His two brothers
were Al & Paul.
He married his beloved wife Jane (nee Wire) in 1947, and they truly
celebrated 49 years of blissful marriage, which blessed them with two
sons Daniel & Gary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, many dear friends
and his wife Jane who along with their four Wire Haired Fox Terriers
greeted him into eternity on July 1, 2010.
“Papa Lou” is survived by: His sons Daniel Boulos & Gary Boulos and his
daughters in law Marianne (Kurth) Boulos & Lisa Boulos; his
grandchildren, Sandy Borring, Kelly Boulos Kruczek, Kevin Boulos, Jamie
Hultberg, Nicole and Matthew Boulos; his grandsons in law, Jim Borring,
Robby Kruczek, John Hultberg, and his granddaughter in law Eileen

Donald and Jonathan Kurth, and Abigail Strom; some nieces and nephews, a
few remaining dear friends and some really wonderful neighbors. All of
whom will miss him and the way he cared so much for his family and
friends.
Lou loved life and was a true HERO. Even through hard ships as a child
he had a survivor’s winning spirit. When he turned 20 he joined the Navy
and served on the USS Franklin during World War 2, this ship was bombed
on March 19, 1945 and over 700 United States Navy personnel were killed.
It was the Navy that brought Lou to Illinois, when he was stationed in
Chicago he met Jane…and it was smooth sailing from that point on.
Lou was an avid fisher men and golfer and Lou was also known for
throwing some legendary parties.
Lou was a true success in business; he worked for Polk Bros, Norge,
Fedders, and Mid Lake distributors. His hard work paid off and he was
able to provide a comfortable life for his wife and two sons.
Lou and Jane traveled the world together and enjoyed life to the
fullest. Lou spent the last 50 years in his home in Arlington Heights
IL.
Lou was presented with awards in the Navy, in business, and even a few
fishing awards, but the award that meant the most to him was the family
that God rewarded him with that he loved so completely and so
selflessly.
Papa Lou you are our HERO, you will be missed, the imprint that you left
will be felt forever. Please help us celebrate the life of John Louis
Bolus our much loved HERO.
