Robert F. Burke II
Of Arlington Heights

Robert F. Burke II was born December 29, 1921 in Decatur, IL to Robert F. and Effie M. (nee Sampley) Burke. He died July 15, 2009 at the Lutheran Home and Services in Arlington Heights.

Robert served in the Navy during WWII on the Destroyer Escort Fessinden. He was a member of the Destroyer Escort Association, the Lincoln Continental Owners Club and the Cary Country Club.

Robert is survived by his wife Mildred (nee Harms) Burke whom he married September 14, 1947; his children Robert Burke III of Rolling Meadows and Jeffrey (Susan) Burke of Elgin; his granddaughter Heather Burke and by his brother Dean (Carol) Burke.

Robert is preceded in death by his sister Ferne (late Buford) Helm and Eloise (late Carl) Alsip and by his parents.

Visitation Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive, Arlington Heights from 10 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. Entombment at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905
