McDermid, 77, of Buffalo Grove, beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Kapitz); loving father of Dawn (Bob) Garcia, Nancy (Patrick) Filatre, David (Julie), Kathleen (Tom) Kotel, Therese (Mike) Cofrin and the late Tom; loved grandfather of Tom, Pascal, Natalie, Anna, Brad, Kelly, Blake, Talia, Ashley and Karly; dear brother of Elaine (the late Tom) Mabie and Charles (Nancy).

Visitation 4-9 PM Thursday at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM Friday at the funeral home to St. Mary Catholic Church, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove for Mass at 11:00 AM.

Interment private.
