Elizabeth Zovnic
Of Chicago formerly of Arlington Heights

Elizabeth ”Betty” Zovnic, was born August 16, 1921 to Stefan and Anna (nee Bohacek) Bohil. She peacefully entered into eternal rest June 17, 2006.

Mrs. Zovnic was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a life-long member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol, Wreath 93, Milwaukee. Betty was a homemaker who began her career as a private duty nurse and volunteer. She was also an active member at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, IL for over 40 years. Family and friends will mourn the loss of this special woman who has graced their lives.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Anthony A. (Christine) Zovnic of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Betsy (John) Lower of Chicago, IL , Thomas G. Zovnic of Hawthorn Woods, IL and Kathleen O’Donnell of Kildeer, IL; her grandchildren, Sarah and Nancy Zovnic, Jane Lower, Mitchell Zovnic, and Molly and Anna Day; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by her husband, Anthony J. Zovnic, her parents, and her sister Mary Bohil Steffek.

Visitation from 9:00 AM until time of prayers at 10:15 AM, Saturday, June 24, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights, IL to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights, IL for Mass at 11:00 AM, to celebrate Betty’s wonderful life. Burial at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Our Lady of the Wayside Gloria Rebek Scholarship Fund, 432 W. Park St., Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
