Leonard P. Basak, Sr.
Of Prospect Heights

Leonard P. Basak, Sr. was born November 16, 1924 in Chicago to Jacob and Alexandra (nee Wawrzyniak) Basak. He died July 28, 2005 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Basak was the owner of Basak's Meat Market in Chicago

Leonard is survived by his wife, Virginia (nee Baranowski) Basak whom he married October 18, 1947; his children, Leonard (Margaret) Basak, Jr. of Mokena, Mark Basak of Prospect Heights, Bruce (Mary Ann) Basak of Hoffman Estates, and Michael A. (Maureen) Basak of Glenview; and his grandchildren, Alexandra, Jacob, Jaclyn, Leonard Phillip III, Jennifer, Michael Jr., Alexander, Cassandra, and John.

He is preceded by his parents; and his sisters, Florence (Edward) Szurek and Victoria (Ted) Mirski.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of prayers at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers will be held 10:15 AM, Saturday, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., proceeding to St. Alphonsus Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery.
