Thomas J. McLaughlin
Of Arlington Heights
Thomas J. McLaughlin was born March 11, 1927 in Chicago to Thomas E. and
Marie (nee Guerin) McLaughlin. He died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at
Lexington of Wheeling Healthcare Center in Wheeling.
Mr. McLaughlin worked for Commonwealth Edison for 37 years and was an
Industrial Relations Manager before he retired in 1988 and also taught
personnel and economics classes at IIT in the MBA program. He served in
the Navy during WW II. Tom was an active member of Our Lady of the
Wayside Catholic Church where he was a basketball coach and a scout
leader. Thomas was a member of the Civil War Roundtable, very active at
the Arlington Heights Senior Center and a Member of the Knights of
Columbus, Holy Rosary Council and Fourth Degree Member of the Elizabeth
Ann Seton Assembly.
His survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marilyn nee Thorn, whom he
married November 11, 1951; his children Patricia (Ken) Goldman, Terry
(Kristin) McLaughlin, Kevin McLaughlin, Tim (Kindis) McLaughlin, Sean
(Meg) McLaughlin, Bridget (Mike) McDonnell, Brendan (Tracy) McLaughlin
and Brian (Charlotte) McLaughlin, daughter-in-law Margaret McLaughlin;
his grandchildren Tim, Justin, Miles and Reid Goldman, Sarah, Patrick,
Mary Kate, Grace, Christopher, Shannon, Erin, Jack, Luke, and Joe
McLaughlin; his sister Mary Anne Jurgensen.
Thomas is preceded in death by his son Dan, his parents and his brothers
Bob, Jack and Phillip.

Arlington Heights to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell,
Arlington Heights for Mass at 9:30 AM. Visitation Tuesday, July 12, 2005
from 3:00 until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment
will be private. |
